Terms & content use
Last reviewed: 3 June 2026. General information, not medical advice.
The short, plain-English version of the deal for using this site and for sharing a story. Nothing tricky — but worth being clear, especially now that people can submit stories.
The basics
- notnpd is general information, not medical advice. The people behind it are not clinicians, and nothing here diagnoses anyone — only a qualified professional can do that.
- Use the site to think more clearly and, if you need it, to find real help. Don’t use it as a substitute for talking to a GP or a qualified professional.
Using this site
- It’s provided “as is”, and we can’t promise it’s complete, error-free, or right for your specific situation.
- Any decisions you make after reading it are your own. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for what you do with the information here.
- We link out to other organisations (helplines, clinics, sources). We’re not responsible for their content — they run their own sites.
Sharing a story
The Stories section lets you submit your experience to (maybe) be published. If you do, here’s the deal:
- You’re 18 or older, it’s your own experience, and you have the right to share it.
- Don’t include real names (yours or anyone else’s) or details that could identify you or another person. We’ll edit out or skip anything that does.
- By submitting, you give us permission to edit, anonymise, publish, or not publish your story, and to remove it at any time. You keep ownership of your own words; you’re just giving us a licence to use them this way.
- It won’t be published automatically — a human reviews every submission first.
- It’s not confidential and not monitored for help. If you’re struggling, don’t use the story box — call Lifeline 13 11 14 or see where to get real help.
- There’s no payment for submitting or publishing a story.
Acceptable use
Please don’t submit (or use the site to post) anything that is:
- abusive, hateful, harassing, or attacking a specific person;
- defamatory, false, or naming/identifying real people;
- spam, advertising, or unlawful.
We can remove anything and block abuse, at our discretion, without notice.
Privacy
What we collect (and mostly don’t) is covered on the privacy page — including exactly how story submissions are stored, screened and retained.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the “last reviewed” date below shows when. Questions? Get in touch via the about page.
